Whether you love winter time or not, there’s one thing we can all agree to hate: dry skin. During the colder months, skin can be itchy, flaky and downright irritating! There are a few skin care steps to follow in order to keep your skin moisturized.

Water, Water, and More Water
Even though you may not feel as thirsty as you do during the warmer months of summer, your body still needs water! Try to keep track of the fluid ounces you drink so that you can ensure you’re getting enough. This is often the leading culprit of dry skin, so make sure to moisturize from the inside out.

Exfoliate Gently
Gentle scrubs get rid of dead skin cells that are keeping your skin irritated. But, the key word here is gentle -- we don’t mean that you should breakout the apricot scrub you used religiously in high school. Harsh scrubs actually dry out your skin even more and especially during cold months. Consider Tu’el Body Polish Exfoliation Kit to exfoliate your arms and legs, which can be more susceptible to drying out, and use the Power Scrub to gently refine your face.

Use Bath Salts or Oils
We think you’re going to like this key tip: take a bath! Just pour in a few drops of pure essential oils in the water, and relax. Lavender oil is especially calming and moisturizing, but you can also use bath salts, which don’t make the water as slippery.

Always Follow with Moisturizer
No matter how cold it is when you get out of the shower, take the time to moisturize your skin after every shower or bath. One of our favorite tricks to hold in moisture is to apply essential oils or lotion while your skin is still damp. It’s a simple way to trap moisture without allowing it to evaporate.
