Sunshine, longer days, swimming, staying up late...everything we love about summer, right? Well these same things can wreak havoc on our eyes, from squinting and frowning in the sunlight, to puffy eyes from long evenings outside under the stars...your eyes and the skin around them can definitely take a beating as the weather heats up. Here are a few simple tips on how you can help keep your eyes cool this summer.

Start fresh

It’s important to start and finish each day with the right eye care products. From lightening dark circles and brightening tired eyes, to targeting wrinkles and taking down puffiness, the right products can make all the difference.

Cover up

Sunglasses, goggles, and hats...covering and protecting your eyes from summer activities is so important. Make sure sunglasses have 100% UV protection...without it you could be harming your eyes even more than you may think. And yes, just like sunscreen, sunglasses are a must even in cloudy weather. Think about investing in a bigger pair of sunglasses...those with larger lenses will offer protection for your eyes along with the delicate skin around them. Don’t forget a hat! Sunglasses are great, but a hat and a good pair of sunglasses are a winning combination when it comes to eye and skin protection.

Drink up

When we say “drink up” we mean H2O. Water keeps your skin and eyes hydrated, and will help with puffiness. Hydration makes a big difference in eye health, and can also keep skin glowing.

Protect yourself

This might be somewhat obvious, but remember to always, always wear sunscreen! The key is to stop sun damage before it starts, so even if it’s cloudy outside always apply! Pro Tip: Consider staying out of the midday heat completely. By avoiding the hottest part of the day, you stay cooler, and the eyes and skin stay protected.
